The system is based on a Megasquirt v3.0 board with a MS-I processor running the latest MSnS firmware.
MS-II processor based units and the option to upgrade will be made available down the road a bit.
Hardware features on the 'base' unit:
- All of the optional v3.0 circuitry protection components installed.
- Injector flyback and synchronous rectifier circuitry installed.
(means you can run low impedance injectors if you want/need to).
- The standard MS 2.5bar MAP sensor.
(2.5 bar is the range from an absolute vacuum... so that means you need to subtract an entire atmosphere. Or in more simple terms, it's good from complete vacuum to 21.755 psi of boost. 21psi Not enough!? No problem, i have internally mounted 3 and 4 bar options available).
- Two built in Fairchild Semiconductor ignitors to directly drive the stock wasted spark coils or any other 4cyl wasted spark coil pack/s.
- Tachometer driver circuit.
- Electric cooling fan relay control circuit.
(both the on and off temps are independently programmable).
- 3 wire PWM idle valve control.
(closed loop idle control).
- A/C control.
Capabilities the base unit would support:
- 12x12 VE (fuel) and ignition advance tables.
(The megasquirt system uses linear interpolation between bins in all of its tables... so the resolution is actually MUCH higher than it looks.
- Closed loop EGO control.
(If using your existing stock upstream narrowband O2).
- 8x8 AFR control target table
(If using the output from a wideband controller + sensor).
- Rev limiter.
(FULLY programmable. Cut fuel, or fuel and spark. Soft and hard limits).
- Overboost protection.
(Same thing as rev limiter, except it looks at pressure instead of RPM).
- Coolant temp related ignition advance, afterstart enrichment, warmup enrichment.
(will fire right up... and run well- even below freezing).
- Intake air temp related ignition retard.
(can help prevent detonation from occuring due to overly hot air).
Optional capabilities (additional cost + delivery time):
- Knock detection circuit.
(Allows the MS to automatically retard the ignition if knock is detected. Can also be used to decrease boost when used along with the boost control option).
- Electronic boost control.
(6x6 boost target table).
- Table switching.
(Flip over to a second set of fuel, ignition, target afr and boost control tables with the flick of a switch).
- Two step launch control w/ variable launch option.
(flat shift is a part of this option as well).
- N2o system control.
(Turbo anti-lag feature as well).
- Real-time barometric correction.
(If the altitude you will be driving in varies greatly).
- Programmable auxilliary relay control output.
(turn something on/off based on a choosen factor. -Activating an intercooler water sprayer when intake air temp goes above xxx degrees for example).
What's lost by using this product?:
- Street legal status.
(Product is intended for race/off-road use only!)
- OBD-II
- EVAP PCSV
(you will have to just vent to atmosphere from the canister).
Installation of a basic unit will involve:
1. Removing the factory ecu and putting the new one in.
2. Vacuum line hookup. The recommended method will be to drill a hole thru the firewall in a specified location. The 'no-drill' option is to use the climate control vacuum supply line... however, the climate control system vacuum tank/reservoir will have to be eliminated.
3. Remove MAFS. Optional... but it's not used at all, so might as well. Tie off the connector somewhere.
That's it. A wideband installation guide will be provided with stage 1 packages. Stage 2 packages will come with an Innovate LC-1 system pre-wired to an OEM o2 connector! Unit's with optional features will come with additional feature specific installation guides.
